Wild Olive Wood Continental Bobbin                         length:  16.5cm

Wild Olive , though the same species as that found in the northern Mediterranian lands, is found in northern and central Africa. Here it grows slower and produces a finer grain pattern as shown in this bobbin. It is fitted with a brass tip and a detail of a casein ivory collar ( a resin product created from milk protein ).

NB: The bobbins available have a grain almost identical to the one shown in the image.
