Large Standard Tipped Bobbin (Black Palm) length: 20.5cm
A very interesting material that isn't technically wood but related to grasses and bamboos. It`s appearance is different as it has no growth rings like woods but it produces a fine bobbin. It is fitted with a brass tip and a casein ivory collar (not ivory but a resin created from milk).
NB: The bobbins available have a grain almost identical to the one shown in the image.
